Open House 2010 A record number of people attended the Open House and donor BBQ July 24th. Le Nichoir's volunteers and staff were delighted with the outcome of this year's Open House. More than 200 adults and 145 children attended the event.
Seven Goslings Find a New Family Two weeks ago Le Nichoir received 7 orphan goslings and asked the media to spread the word that we were looking for a family of geese to adopt them. Thanks to many kind readers that called the 7 goslings found a new family (May 2010)

Steak and Lobster Dinner May 29th, 2010 Join supporters of Le Nichoir, CASCA and Gerdy's Rescue for a Steak and Lobster Dinner to be held May 29th at St Mary's Church Parish Hall (273 Main Road in Hudson) and hosted by Peaceful Pleasures. There will be a raffle and music by Ted Poulin. Steak $30, Lobster $35 or Surf 'n Turf $50. Dinner includes salad, dessert, coffee or tea. Bring your own wine. Le Nichoir’s Benefit Dinner and Auction “For the Birds” draws a record number of attendees A record number of people attended Le Nichoir’s Benefit Dinner and Auction "For the Birds" this year. More than 150 guests joined the Centre’s volunteers on April 24th at the beautiful Château Vaudreuil. Guests participated in the live and silent auction, by bidding on art, antiques and exciting packages of all kinds. The generosity of the participants helped raise $25,000 for Le Nichoir’s operations. This includes $5,000 for a special appeal which was presented by Lynn Miller, co-founder of Le Nichoir. This year’s special appeal funds will be used for the construction of an outdoor classroom for the Centre’s youth education programs. The evening’s Guest of Honour was Nathalie Zinger, Regional Vice-President of the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), Quebec Region. “Ms. Zinger came to offer NCC’s complete support for Le Nichoir and its important fundraising campaign for the new Wild Bird Conservation Centre. Zinger also congratulated Le Nichoir for its sustained efforts for avian conservation" explains Josée Bonneville, President of Le Nichoir. Bonneville also commented that “it is an honour to have this national non-profit organization as a partner”. The land on which the new Center will be located, the Clarke-Sydenham Nature Reserve, was given by the Nature Conservancy of Canada. (May 2010)

Open House 2009 We held our annual Open House and Donors BBQ on Saturday July 25th. Birding, tours of the center, wild bird releases, children activities and lunch were all held in perfect weather. Le Nichoir Speaks out About Air Rifles "These guns are not toys" exclaims Lynn Miller, expert in bird rehabilitation and one of the founders of Le Nichoir. A juvenile crow was admitted to the centre with a badly damaged wing. This was not the first time Le Nichoir has attempted to rehabilitate a bird that was injured by an air rifle. (July 2008)
